About Me

Over the course of my life personally and professionally I have been afforded a phenomenal opportunity to learn and develop myself into the person I want to become. Even now as I find myself again in a role of professional student, I see this not as a setback, but rather a launch pad for a brighter future. Hard work and determination keep my focus and drive my ambitions for a better life for my family and myself. Having spent many years out of school and only recently returning I have a new perspective on the skills being taught in my institution I am attending, and the importance of their application. In every step of my professional life I have worked my way through unique trials and never remained satisfied or kept situated in any one role for too long as I view my work to be a direct reflection of myself, and for that I can say I take a deep amount of pride in what I do, regardless of what that may be.

I have found that possibly my most unique ability is that I love to build people and successful teams. From small groups to numbers in the hundreds, I find myself personally and deeply invested in others success that drive towards a common goal. Wherever I find myself in my professional future I am certain of one thing and that is I will never lose my passion for people nor their importance to a highly functional unit.

Family & Food
The most important aspect of my life as I noted above that fuels my drive comes from my family. I am as I see it most importantly and first a father to my five children and a husband to my wife, and most all of my time outside of working is dedicated to them. I have found having children has dramatically refocused my priorities in life causing me to grow up at a young age and certainly is impactful in how I manage workplace issues, stressors, and compassion for others.
I love anything outdoors, golfing, traveling, and hockey but if I am being honest much of that gets at least for the time put on the backburner as my family's wellbeing takes precedence. There is one hobby though that I found works well in fitting into family life and that is cooking. Learning from my father at a young age I have developed a deep passion for food both that I have prepared, and that prepared by others. I find myself constantly seeking new recipes and am confident in my abilities to make almost anything regardless of cooking style or mechanism. Food is the great connector and even going back to deployments in countries where I had little connection to the local population's food was common ground.
